Ok, hands up if you saw the title and thought I have to see this, this cant be right?
The idea of this blog was simply to capture 3 of my individual brides all headed to the isle of Santorini for the happy ,couples, nuptials and to share inspiration to other brides looking to go down this route
As a designer/creator of wedding gowns and veils, this year has by far been the year of the destination bride for me, lots of new brides to be excitedly planning their special days with pretty much, guaranteed sunshine and beautiful backdrops.
Santorini with its whitewashed buildings, blue rooftops and phenomenal light has come out top for my brides this year and next year it seems and as you will see from the below stories and pictures its easy to see why.
Here we have not just one happy day but 3, what they have in common is location, venues, sunshine, blue skies, simplistic, elegant, details, wonderful photographers and all brides Lucy, Charmaine and Gill had their veil custom created by myself.
To all you brides to be considering Santorini as a possible wedding destination I truly hope this will inspire and motivate you to do just the same , it may be another country but with the right planning and suppliers ,you too can have your own version of beautiful.
Lucy and Zak
Lucy came to me with the idea of, creating something complimentary to her wedding gown, so we chose a scroll pattern, Alencon lace trimmed cathedral veil, embellished with clear sequins to catch the clear sunlight
Lucy in her own words:
I met Zak in Australia, we both were travelling on our own and met at Christmas in Melbourne, I cant believe I had to travel all the way to Australia to meet my now husband lol!
Our wedding as my Nan would describe it was a fairytale wedding, it was perfect.
My advise is to make time for just you two for an hour have a drink and take it all in, don't worry about the small details. Make sure you get enough pictures and videos as you will cherish them forever.
The finer details
My wife...My husband
Charmaine and Rory
Charmaine in her own words:
Rory and I met through a mutual friend, we went on one date and have been inseparable ever since. He proposed to me in Prague on a frosty day in December in a secluded spot at Petrin Hill which has the most amazing views of the city.
We have always said when we got married it would be in Santorini so it was an easy choice for us. The colours of our wedding were blue, white and grey. We wanted the view to speak for itself so we kept things very minimalistic. The best moment of our wedding was our first dance. Our first dance song was the acappella version of kygo Firestone mixed into the normal version by our friend who djs. When the normal version of the song came in we had fountain fireworks go off, our guests were blown away. If I could give one tip to any brides it’s not to stress over the smaller details. I didn’t notice most of the things on the day that I spent months worrying about. Being Scottish we couldn’t have a wedding without including some traditional ceilidh dancing which was organised by our best man and bridesmaid. The staff at our venue loved it and were even taking photos.
Charmaine chose a cut edge Cathedral veil, simple, soft and light, perfect for that veil blow shot

Gill and Ronnie
Gill in her own words:
"Ronnie and I met on a night out over 4 years ago now, we moved in together 6 months later! My only advice to brides to be planning a destination wedding would be try to relax, not stress over the little details and just enjoy the day, it will be the best day of your life!
"We offered an open bar for the duration of the wedding so I’m sure you can imagine how that ended up, one of our guests ended up serving behind the bar and there were Jäger bombs before the main course"!
There is nothing I would change about the day"!
Gill chose a soft, light, illusion, Cathedral veil trimmed in a fine, vintage style eyelash lace
A beautiful day for a beautiful wedding
